Nature of
Bondage
Similarly the intensity of a karmic bondage also
depends upon the nature and character of the Karmas. If a karma is done
with great intensity, in other words if ‘Bhava-karma prompting an action
is strong, the bondage, good or bad, would be equally intense and strong.
A man can use his knife to commit murder as also to perform a surgical
operation to cure a living creature, and accidentally causes death. Both
may be responsible to cause death but while one wanted to kill, the other
wanted to save. Thus the ‘Bhava' or intention of both was entirely
different and hence the bondage would also be different.
