IDLI DAHI VADA
200 grams green grams (moong dal skinned)
250 grams plain yogurt
500 grams date chutney (khajur) red chilly powder
cumin seeds (powder) salt
Soak green grams for 3-4 hours. Wash and grind in the mixture. Add salt and make idlis. Do not keep batter longer after grinding, as it will become soft. Prepare at once.
Soak these idlis in luke-warm water. Squeeze out water and serve in a plate. Spread plain yogurt, date chutney, salt, red chilly and cumin seeds powder, while serving. They taste better if chilled.
