SHRI VIRCHAND RAGHAVJI GANDHI SCHOLARSHIP Year 2004 - 2005
Shri Virchand Raghavji Gandhi was the first Jain to spread Lord Mahavira's message of universal love and nonviolence to the west when he attended the first ever held parliament on world religions in Chicago in 1893 to commemorate the centenary of that great historical event and to honour this great Jain Scholar and humanitarian, JAINA had established a Virchand Raghavji Gandhi Scholarship in 1997.

This Scholarship will be awarded to bright and needy students studying Jainism and / or pursuing doctorate and / or research studies in fields like Jainism. Jain Philosophy, Jain literature, Jain scriptures, Jain temple architecture etc. at recognized institutions and universities. The scholarship up to Rs. 15,000/- to 17,000/- for current year, renewable up to  4 years. Last date for applying: 30th September 2004.
