JAIN
JOURNALISTS CONFERENCE PLANNED TO BE HELD AT NEW DELHI
On the occasion of 2604th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Mahavir, the
representative body of entire Jain community, 'Jain Mahasabha'
has planned to hold a conference of Jain journalists for the first time in the
country to discuss the role of journalists and their responsibilities towards
religion and society. The programme, to be organised at New Delhi, is being planned in the last week of September or first
week of October this year. About 400 daily, weekly, fortnightly and monthly
Jain newspapers, magazines and journals are being brought out in the country.
Besides, a number of national level daily newspapers are being owned or
controlled by Jains. Such a gathering, it is hoped,
would be very useful in providing a forum for free exchange of views and
ideas and would help in overcoming social evils and build a clean
society. For details, contact: Prof. Ratan Jain, A-16, Ashok Vihar Phase II, New Delhi-52.
