Palitana Rehabilitation Camp

 Urgent Appeal to All Jains: 

Dear Brothers and Sisters: 

A Mega Camp is being organized to Rehabilitate 25,000 Physically Handicapped & Hearing Impaired at Palitana – Most Sacred Place for Jains. The camp will be held  from December 23rd 2009 to January 9, 2010.  This camp is supported by Jain Acharyas of all Fircas. This is in keeping with Jain Philosophy of caring for fellow beings. Volunteers from medical Community and social workers are invited to participate. This project is being supported by JAINS from North America, Africa, U.K., India and Belgium, Jain from all over the world is supporting this project. 

Palitana is one of the most sacred places for Jains where one can visit more the 800 temples on the hills of Shatrunjaya. The proposed camp will be the largest of its kind helping around 25,000 physically challenged and hearing impaired from the  district of Bhavnagar in Gujarat. We will provide tricycles, wheelchairs, calipers, hearing aids and other aids and appliances to the disabled. 

We are cordially inviting you and your colleagues to be there and participate in this historical humanitarian event. It will not only be an eye-opener but also a rewarding experience as you will be able to share the joyful atmosphere while serving our fellow human beings. 

JAINA is one of the Sponsors of this MEGA Camp. Jains from North America have been in the forefront for any humanitarian causes. Once again our compassion is being tested. As a Jain, it is our greatest moral obligation to respond to the needs of helpless victims.  Your contribution will give new life to those disabled.
