Greetings all
you awesome YJA-ers,
The time as finally come! It's finally here! Information
about the 2008 NE Winter Retreat is finally here! It will be during
President's Day Weekend - Feb.
16, 17, and 18. It will also be at the same place we had it last year
since that is the closest location to a snow tubing, skiing, and snowboarding.
If you came last year or know of someone who came last year, then you know
that this is an event not to be missed! If you're not from the area or haven't
attended a YJA event before, then this is the event for you to come to!
I hope most of you have registered for
the retreat since it's only a few weeks away and spaces are filling up fast!
For those of you who are still debating whether to come or not, don't think
twice- just DO it!
I
promise, you will not regret it! Take a break the long weekend to escape from
your crazy lives... Chillax, mix 'n' mingle with friends - old and new,
connect with other people with similar mindsets, and, most importantly,
connect with yourself and Jainism. Not only will there be good food and
company, but what could be more exciting than skiing (or at least the attempt
hehe), snow tubing, snowball fights, and - my favorite - hot chocolate and
s'mores (Jain, of course!) to wind up a wonderful evening!
One of the things we're committed to is that everyone gains something of value
from this weekend, which means folks of all ages. So while there will be
sessions structured for the 14-18 yr. olds, there will also be session(s)
structured for the 18-28 yr. olds as well!
Explore peaceful living with some amazing guest speakers, learn ways to improve the quality of your life on a daily basis with our very own Dhru & co., and get one-on-one with the cool kids of the Jain Center of America. Antakshari around the fire, vegan marshmallows, meditation, and the classic game of shak-bhaji!! ! What more can I say? So get ready for a ridiculously fun-filled weekend & we hope to see you soon!
