Sir,
I have learnt that during the past month of March, as it has been happening
for many years now, the government of your country has authorised the
killing of hundreds of thousands of seals, ostensibly to reduce their impact
on fish stocks.
I am writing this letter to express my firm refusal of such barbarism, which
evidences the real underlying spirit of modern western societies, that is, a
totally anthropocentric view of the world.
The one and only agent of the destruction of fish stocks is the human being,
the real harmful presence on this planet. As if this were not enough, the
human being blame the seals, the same animals that (what a strange
coincidence!) are being killed and exterminated
so that a bloody industry can thrive by trading their body parts (skin, fat,
meat, etc.).
Thank you in advance for your time and attention and I trust that you will
forward my letter to the member of government responsible for such matters
in your country.
